Pirate Scrapbook

A couple of years ago I decided to start a scrapbook of the Cap’n and I and the events we’ve gone to. Or at least the ones we have photographed. I’ve saved up stickers, papers, and other such things to use in my book. I’ve gotten papers in blacks, browns, and tans to be the base pages for the book and a wooden front and back cover. I painted the wood pieces, punched each and every hole into the pages to make them fit the posts, but I don’t actually have any photos printed out for it.

So for the past few days I’ve been going through the digital photos I have, re-editing many of them, and sizing them properly to be sent to the lab. It’s really a lot of fun going through the pictures and remembering what we were doing four years ago. And after seeing so many of the old photos, I miss my long hair! I really can’t wait for it to grow out again in what will probably be another year. Anyway, I’m very much looking forward to putting my collection together after however-long I’ve been stashing these pieces. It will be my first scrapbook, and I’m already looking forward to sharing it with my thus far nonexistent children.

Movies

Barbossa on Shore

If you’re trying to keep spoiler free for the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie, don’t watch this video.

A few folks out there have been filming the filming and rehearsals for On Stranger Tides and putting their videos up on YouTube. Watching these shows you just a piece of what goes into the filming of the large budget seen-by-all movies. There are cranes, tents, lots of trucks and dozens of crew all around the area. The actual area of filming is really small in comparison to the space needed for all the people and equipment. This video shows Barbossa talking to a couple of officers on a wreckage ravaged beach. I won’t comment on his appearance for the sake of those staying away from spoilers!

Item Update

More Mini Cloaks

All the Mini Cloaks in this previous post have been added into the shop! You may have also noticed that the shop has a new section called Bridal Cloaks. Nothing is there yet just because I haven’t had the chance to have a shoot with the first Bridal Mini Cloak, but here’s a really bad photo of it in the meantime! I’ve also completed the, ahem, “Celery” Mini Cloak. Now that it’s done it doesn’t remind me of celery anymore, and I’m trying to get past calling it that! I’ll definitely need a better name for it once it’s up in the shop.

If you’ve noticed a bunch of Hair Jewels disappearing from the shop, don’t worry, they’ll be back soon. I’m just trying to space out the renewing times a bit so I won’t have thirteen items expiring all at the same time again! I do have three Pirate Hair Jewels Sets that consist of each a short, medium, and long strand with one of the short or medium length strands having a Kuchi pendant. No photos yet, and I’ll post them here before they show up in the shop!

Gerbils of the Caribbean

This video might be old news, but I still go back to it every few months and watch it over again. It’s extremely goofy, plays off of Pirates of the Caribbean, and was made with lots and lots of gerbils! Which, in case you didn’t know, I have my own “tiny” gerb named Anubis, so gerbils hold a special place in my heart. Gerbils + Pirates = Epic Win!

Item Update

Site Update: Cloaks page

I’ve just added a new page onto the site, Sapphire Mini Cloak the Cloaks page. It has linked photos of the cloaks currently available, and if you notice, also a portion for full length cloaks! No, nothing is there yet, but keep an eye out for some full length cloaks before All Hallows Eve! I have some gorgeous purple wool that I can’t wait to make some royal cloaks with.
