Sherwood Video
A short video of some of the sights you’d see at Sherwood! We had a record breaking day of attendance on Saturday, when this video was taken!
Opening Day!
Today is the opening day for this year’s Sherwood Forest Faire! I’ll of course be at shoppe 115, Iris Adornments and Apothecary. I hope to see some of y’all there!
My Etsy shop will be in vacation mode each weekend whilst the Mini Cloaks and Hair Jewels sell at the faire. I’ll update what is still available after each weekend.
New Layout
We’ve decided on a new layout for Iris Adornments and Apothecary, our shoppe at Sherwood Forest Faire. Moving the counter around really opened the shoppe up with more room for customers to move about.
Two weeks away
Only two weeks until the opening of the 2011 season of Sherwood Forest Faire! If you haven’t already bought tickets, buying them online can save you a few dollars. Check out the tickets page on Sherwood’s site to view prices and buy tickets online.
I’m keeping myself busy sewing away at cloaks, and I can’t wait until the gates open. Iris Adornments and Apothecary is sporting a new layout this year, as well as a new artist! We’ll have some beautiful hand drawn and painted maps by Jacqueline Shivers.
Remember to come by and say hi when you’re at Sherwood!
Sherwood Forest Faire

The first day of the second annual Sherwood Forest Faire is only one month away! I’ve been busy preparing new inventory for this second year, and I can’t wait until opening day.
Sherwood is of course the only faire I vend at, but I hope that someday in the near future I can expand my venues. I encourage anyone in the area to come out and enjoy the faire for all it has to offer! There are performances, dozens of merchants, and delicious foods all around the faire. Click the map to the right to see the general layout of the faire, although it will change a bit for the new season. I’ll be at shoppe 115, Iris Adornments and Apothecary, between the Seven Sisters and the Greene Woode Stage!
Vale MMX
This year is coming to a close, and I’m in full gear to make stock for Sherwood Forest Faire. More Mini Cloaks and full length cloaks are in the works, as well as many new Pirate Hair Jewels. I’ve ordered new pendants with bells for Specialty Pirate Hair Jewels that I can’t wait to strand with beads!
I’m aiming to have 30 Mini Cloaks at the start of Sherwood, and at least 120, hopefully 140 Hair Jewels. We’ll have new displays for the Hair Jewels, ones that hopefully won’t fall over and break this year. Heh. I hope to post pictures as soon as they’re done.
I’ve made several new Long Pirate Hair Jewels once I realized there were only three left, but I haven’t any photos yet. Look for them in the next few weeks!
Iris Update
The Iris Adornments and Apothecary website is getting a new look! We should have it finished in the next few weeks, in preparation for this next season of Sherwood Forest Faire.
Sherwood Forest Faire 2011 will run for seven weekends starting February 19.
Painting Iris
This past weekend I spent with Stephanie and Jack working on our shop, Iris Adornments and Apothecary, at Sherwood Forest Faire. For the first season, we built our shop from the ground up (pictures here), but we were not able to get all the finishing touches done before the faire opened. During the gathering at Sherwood this past weekend, we took the time to clean out the shop and paint the ceiling. It’s looking much better having more than just primer! I would post pictures, except I completely forgot to take any. We were exhausted when we finished up.
We also moved things around a bit and have decided on a different shop layout for next year’s run of Sherwood. The counter will be pushed over to the side of the shop to open up space for more displays with new items. We still have much more to do in and on our building, and I can’t wait to post pictures of it when it’s all done.
